Samsung adds AMOLED screen to its line of cameras
While cameras have been their fad since eternity, Samsung has been in the thick of things with AMOLEDs lately, and now, the manufacturer has combined the two to come up with some of the first few compact cameras touting AMOLED screens. Making a staggering appearance in the ranks is the Samsung PL10. Also known as the Samsung CL5, it is a 9 megapixel multimedia digital camera featuring a 2.7-inch LCD screen. The camera with a host of other multimedia specialties also has a MP3 player integrated along with face recognition and digital picture stabilization features.
The other released compact cameras include the 12 megapixel cams, the Samsung WB100 with a 3.0-inch screen, and the Samsung compact conveyer belt the WB550 with 10x optical zoom. The cameras include the "Smart Auto" technology, the face detection feature like that in the Samsung PL10, along with HD movie capture. The three cameras shall be available from April 2009 in five different shades for about £179, £329 and £299 respectively.
