Russian cops get advanced devices to spot criminals and drunk drivers

The Russian Interior Ministry, as part of strengthening its enforcement department, is planning to provide a number of futuristic apparatuses to the staff to easily detect criminals in a room and drunken drivers in a running vehicle. The unnamed equipment will be reportedly available to the police next year. The first apparatus will help police determine whether some people are inside a room without entering into it. Just placing the device in the wall outside a room, the police official can check whether somebody is inside. It will be of great help for the officials to spot hidden criminals without their knowledge.The apparatus will not have any risk of radiation exposure, said Sergei Gerasimov, Deputy Interior Minister of Russia. According to the minister, such a device will prove to be a great support for the enforcement department in special operations and other missions.

Futuristic security devices

The police department will also be equipped with another apparatus to help the officials fight against drunk drivers. The device can detect a drunk driver even if the vehicle is moving on the road. But the device has some shortcomings as well. It will horn the alarm even if there is a drunken passenger inside the vehicle. Hence, as Gerasimov noted the instrument needs more testing.

Russian government is pledged to provide more advanced arsenal for the police to prevent crime, terrorist attacks and other threats to the national security. The country is the first to design such sophisticated devices to help the police stop crimes and alcoholic driving, noted the minister.
