Rural India gets Intel's Rugged PC

Intel has gifted rural India a new personal computer to match its rugged countryside. The Community PC aims at filtering down the tech boom to rural India and will be used in community kiosks and will play the role of a primary Internet portal of entire villages.

Intel also kicked off its 'Jagruti' (Awakening) initiative aiming at hooking rural India to the Internet. Multiple users will be able to access the Community PC that will be packed in a rock-hard chassis with removable air filters.
