By the time the JuiceBox sever is integrated with the school's existing computer network , it makes them compatible with the latest operating systems (running on the same network). The users will get the feel of working on the latest Windows 7 version which they will be accessing through the network. Here, The server pitches into action here by receiving all the commands and sending back the imagery of windows 7. So the JuiceBox actually eliminates the requirement of the upgraded hard drive and software though a unique interconnection. Jonathan Hefter says that “ Schools can't afford to upgrade PCs, and developing countries can't afford PCs, so if we can use the power of the cloud, we can move to a more efficient model of computing.”Hefter is hopeful that a 10-year-old desktop computer be utilized effectively to an optimum extent with JuiceBox software.

Why it matters?

Optimizing the Old PC with Window 7 and running latest versions of the software's without upgrading the hardware is off course a big deal. It can save a lot of cost of the schools and small companies at the same time as they can work effectively on low configuration computers. Joyojeet Pal, Professor of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Washington says that "What this project seems to offer is an alternative to an online operating system like Google's Chrome OS, the cost of maintaining an outdated machine could still be considerable due to the need for repairs and labor.”

Most of the technology which we see today is evolutionary technology - as it is continuously upgrading itself. Since, it is not possible to upgrade the old PCs every time, the user opts for a new system providing scope for electronic waste. So, there should be a harmonious construction between the past and present software's and hardware's. If the same computer can be integrated with new software then the user would definitely drop the idea of throwing the system into the junkyard. A former VP of Engineering, OLPC, Mark Foster has quoted that "You see what a difference it makes when kids get the tools that enable them to learn, and you never forget it. In the same way, NeverWare is a terrific idea."
