Whether Apple is cooking up a new iPad device or not, the rumor mill is churning the iPad 2.0 story. The rumor has it that the new device - the Apple iPad 2.0 will receive front and a rear camera and would support video phone facility similar to iPhone 4’s FaceTime. Scheduled to be released in early 2011, the iPad besides an even sleeker display panel will get a Retina Display like the iPhone 4 again, which will enhance image and color output for the users.

According to a Chinese-language Economy Daily News the iPad 2 will add 5 distinct new features to its repertoire. Ever since the launch of the iPad, gyroscope, video phone and a slimmer form factor have always been asked for, and this is what the new rumored iPad could have. Besides the aforementioned, the much required USB port, new Retina Display and a 3-axis gyroscope are likely to find place in the iPad 2. We further learn from the reports that the marketing of the new iPad could be under Ibiden, Tripod Technology and TTM Technologies, initially which will extend for other companies later.

While we only have it as rumor yet, but there are claims by the Economy Daily News which made early calls on the first iPad that the iPad 2 will feature a 3-axis gyroscope and will come with dual cameras, a new Retina Display with new touch technology and a USB port to work with third party devices. There is nothing that we can quote from Apple yet, because the manufacturer has preferred to remain silent on the issue as of now. But we know Steve Jobs well, he has an uncanny habit of delivering new features in Apple devices that catch the onlookers by surprise, and we can expect the same with the iPad 2 when it is launched in the Q1 2011.

The stakes of Apple releasing a new iPad variant in the iPad 2 are very high, so it’s only matter of time before we have the new iPad amid us to gawk at.
