Backyard robot designs can sometimes be more exciting than industrial ones. Eric Sophie has created this robotic arm, christened the RSRA-2008. The bot is driven by x3 9v geared motors and an x1 NXT motor, which is responsible for the life in the end effector. The robot also incorporates two sensors - one Rotation Sensor at the Turntable and an Ultra Sonic Sensor at the end effector. Clearly an exhibition item, the RSRA looks compact and good enough to shift a few bottle cases. Check out the gallery for the original Robotic Arm inspiration.
