Ron Bell’s biomedical sculptures are steampunkish and bony

Posted By: Bharat BhushanSharma | Aug 26 2009

Okay! Imagine you had bones, copper, glass, aluminum and time, of course, at hand - what would you do with it? Do nothing, yeah, or send them down the landfills. I know what we are capable off, that’s the reason I appreciate Ron Bell who creates sculptures with the aforementioned crap, that’s what it was for us. The man constructs osteomechanical sculptures (the term’s got do something with the bones); these weirdly mustered bioelectrical steampunk like-creations are reminiscent of the age old science and mechanical experiment we saw in the books at school or in the museums on a educational trip.

Ron’s collection of Osteomechanical sculptures is on display at the Packer Schopf Gallery. The intricacy of the sculptures is difficult to express in words, so its better you take to the picture gallery we have managed to just give you the glimpse of his masterly contraptions.
