You know what, if God intended human beings to fly like a bird, He’d have just given us wings. But since it’s human to err, we keep on trying to imitate our winged friends, and not to mention, fail miserably. But if you still harbor the dream of taking off into the air like an eagle or even Superman for that matter, you might be interested in this rocket-powered strap-on copter concept, officially called the Libelula Rocket Helicopter. Created by Tecnologia Aeroespacial Mexicana, this solo human flight device uses tiny rocket motors at the tips of the rotor blade instead of the torque which makes a tail rotor necessary in a conventional helicopter to steady itself. At least in theory. But since the makers were not too keen on giving us actual pictures or even a video of a real person flying this thing, I think I’d rather build up my frequent flyer miles the conventional way for the time being.
