Robots cook breakfast for scientists, is the future coming to your kitchen?

All science-fiction movies set in the future are obsessed with Robots. They have robots either in the form of destroyers or helpers. Very few movies have shown robots doing everyday chores that somehow look more real. But the fact is robots cannot directly move to the level futuristic movies depict them as they have to first start with small steps.The first sets of robots are finally here. And they are making breakfast. A group of researchers at Munich's CoTeSys lab are being served breakfast of Bavarian sausages and baguettes by a pair of robots. James, a US-designed PR2 robot sliced the bread and Rosie a German-designed robot boiled sausages. If you look carefully at Rosie as she boils sausages, she gives an impression of performing a dance.

A fun thing to watch, this makes me wonder whether soon we all will be programming the recipes into our robots and they will make perfectly cooked food. That might be a loss because then we won't have the memories of our dads burning food in the backyard. Apart from this, there is also the possibility that the prediction of science fiction movies is going to come true and soon step-by-step robots will be doing all our work.
