Robots can now peel potatoes for you
Robots are slowly replacing humans in most assembly lines across the world. Now, they are all set to invade your kitchen and peel potatoes for you. Aaron Becker and Robert Sandheinrich from the University of Illinois have created a multi axis robotic nozzle which suspends objects in thin air. Once the objects are suspended, they can be manipulated to do a plethora of tasks via fluid dynamics. For all this to happen, a set of stereo cameras will follow the suspended object's movements. Then, a computer model will direct the nozzle to keep the object floating so that it can be worked on. While this technology is still not production ready yet, it won't take too long for it to evolve quickly to adorn your kitchen table. We've lined up a video showing the robot in action.
