Robotic octopus to shower lighting genius at London Design Festival

Brining the widest spectrum of design disciplines to the world’s creative capital this September is the London Design Festival. Designers Clemens Weisshaar and Reed Kram have been commissioned to design this year’s Trafalgar Square installation. Titled the “Outrace”, the light painting installation comprises of a huge robotic octopus that combines six industrial robotic arms. The public will participate by controlling the six robotic arms using the customized software that will take text input and trace shapes in the air drawn by the synchronized mechanical tentacles.
