We often think of ways to utilize the experiences we gain. Most just wait for an opportunity that never comes, while a few make their own fate. One from the latter few is Carlos Owens, an army mechanic who has in his own backyard in Alaska, realized his dream of using his industrial skills, and created this Mecha Exoskeleton that’s an 18-foot-tall metal robot that mimics the movements of the person inside it.
Using a steel frame for the build, Owens has got 27 hydraulic cylinders fitted into the exoskeleton that act like muscles helping Mecha do what the human pilot advises. Drawing power from an 18-horsepower engine, the Mecha takes orders to bend, walk and open its hands. Working on more refined and lighter versions of Mecha, Owens believes these exoskeleton bots could be the future of the military and construction industry.
