We’ve seen robotic suits for paraplegics and the aged. These suits have utility, and we’ve seen how. Now in Japan, there is an exoskeleton for farmers and gardeners, but how useful would this be, only time will tell. The suit under discussion was made and demonstrated at the Tokyo University of Agriculture.
The robotic exoskeleton, weighing at about 55 pounds, is a wearable assistance machine, designed for tilling the soil. The makers in Japan believe that the suit made with eight motors and 16 sensors is equipped to carry its own weight and thereby places the least weight on the user.
Now then, if you have given up on your farming and gardening passion because you think you’ve grown old or if you think you don’t have much left in you to do, these robotic suits may be coming our way to assist you in a couple of years. But you may have to start saving right away, as these may cost you somewhere between £3,500 and £7,000.
