Robot Sumo wrestlers are here to challenge you, are you ready?
If you're able to shake off the high of the 'War of the worlds' and 'Matrix' here is the real one which you won't be able melt down whole of your life. In case your homemade robot is ready and you want him to test for the real wars of the future, make sure he doesn't miss to try his hands on his other pals in the Robotic Sumo challenge.
Ontario College of Art and Design is organizing this annual Sumo Robot Challenge where robots 'face off in a ring and fight each other to the death", as per Simone Jones, assistant dean in the faculty of arts at OCAD.
We keep on reading about these machines every other day but believe me only a fraction of the hoi-polloi has actually confronted them. It's a great opportunity to introduce the enigmatic world of robots to the public and pave way for their easy acceptance in their everyday lives.
In the Sumo challenge two robots will try to push each other off a circular battlefield just like the real Sumo wrestlers. Autonomous and lightweight robots will wrestle and also participate in the Tug of War and other events including creating designs.
