Robot baby takes prize for being beyond maternal compassion

I’ve always, till the most recent memory, considered kids cute, but this robotic baby named Diego-san has definitely changed my perception, at least for the moment. It looks horrifying with that crazy big head on a small mechanical structure. But for the credit, Diego-san is over four-feet tall and has about 20 moving parts on the face to communicate via facial expressions. The robot that mimics a 1-year-old baby can easily lift itself from a chair without assistance and can even hold a water bottle on its own. Weighing about 30kg, this disfigured baby robot has a high-res camera built-in with 6 axis acceleration sensor to detect movement. Now, I know all this, but could someone tell me the use of this baby robot… Don’t say it’s for parental guidance?
