RI-MAN: Robot For The Aged

Crazy as it may sound, the Japanese engineers at Riken are out with a new idea to help care for the aged: a robot named RI-MAN.

RI-MAN sounds more human than a robot, being able to carry a weight of 26 pounds it can even differentiate smells and tell the direction a voice is coming from and even see human faces.
And the engineers also claim that within the next five years RI-MAN will be able to carry over 150 pounds to match weight ranges of elderly Japanese.
