RFID to cut CO<sub>2</sub> emissions

The way RFID has altered our lives and is constantly breaking new grounds in every sphere ranging from business and technology to our homes, it's clear we just can't go without it now, particularly when now it can have positive effects on our environment too.

Japan's Waseda University has evolved an innovative RFID tagging system to monitor movement of trucks between constructions sites to check vehicular emissions. The efficient delivery model based on RFID tags will minimize the number of truck journeys between manufacturers and construction sites and hopefully reduce toxic carbon dioxide emissions by up to 22 per cent.
