Sony's new concept of smartphone, Xperia Arc includes a powerful Google Android 2.3 GingerBread, 4.2 inch multi-touch screen (which displays 854×480 pixels), ultra slim and light weight gadget design and many more new applications. No technology historian can conclude a possible definition for this smartphone as it is a spectacular piece of modern engineering. Xperia Arc is a synthesized blend of a fashion accessory and smartphone. This smartphone has became Sony's first product of 2011. Sony has not compromised with quality at all as superior material has been used to give the Arc shape. It will be useless to compare the Xperia Arc with previous mobile phone, BRAVIA®Engine. As, Xperia's precision engineering assures enliven reality display. This latest Sony product will lead all other Xperia smartphone versions in the coming days.

What is it?
Xperia Arc packs a 4.2 inch multitouch or reality display which will run on 854×480 pixels. Its screen assures superior performance and its overall size is bigger than Apple’s iPhone 3. Sony certifies quality with Android 2.3 operating system and 1GHz CPU processor. And here comes the icing on the cake, a whopping 8.1 MP camera with HD video recording capabilities. Off course the camera would be very unlikely with the camera of Sony Ericsson Vivaz but the Exmor R technology would differentiate between the two. Further to all this, the additionals like Bluetooth, USB and Wifisupport and GPRS and GPS connectivity will make its users feel special. The user can get all of these features at a single body comprised of 8.7mm thickness.
Key features:
Design
No smartphone is currently having such a sleek look. The curved back seems very attractive which provides extra grip to the user while handling it.
Interface
Sony has kept its promise of changing the interface. This version is having a Timescape UI (with a small dock of icons) and standard Android Home screens.
Camera
Camera running on Exmor R technology delivers better results in cloudy situations too. Sony phones are already renowned for their HD capabilities but Exmor R technology has further improvised Sony's camera technology.
Internet
The internat browser will be a boon for the corporate users as it is much more spontaneous and agile then the previous versions.
Messaging
Not much changes have been made in messaging system by the organization. The technology reviewers are considering Nexus S messaging system as more accurate than Xperia Arc.
Media
Mediaplayer is the exact replica of the movie player. A widget with infinity icon has been used In Xperia instead of Mediascape application. This application helps a user in finding the details about a song.
What’s innovative:
We must say that, this is how Sony is improvising itself with every launch of a product. Xperia is having a curved lean body (8.7mm thick), 8.1 megapixel camera with Exmor R sensor technology. These feature has made the phone to occupy a different space in the smartphone industry.
A question arises here that is the Exmor R sensor only change made in the camera? The answer is a big no, the phones camera packs: LED flash, 2.46x digital zoom, touch focus, auto focus, image stabilizer, smile detection, face detection, and geo tagging. These features support the provision of 720p HD videos. By using the HDMI port a user can watch all the captured pictures and videos.

The down side
Some users may feel some problems related to jampacked complex applications. Some other people would be there who won't agree on the design- as it is quite weird. Lastly, Since the phone has been packed with so much of stuff it would be a bit expensive and beyond the reach of upper middle class.
The bottomline:
Besides some minor criticism the design manages to attract me and anyother technology fanatic alike. The overall design is quite impressive with mesmerizing looks. The performance has not at all compromised in the phone. The launch of X10 would have been a mess but a lot is being expected from this phone. Right now, we cannot end this blog with any possible conclusion about the new Sony smartphone as the launch is still pending for Q1, 2011. But it can be safely said, that the phone should deserve a fair chance of being awaited for its launch.
