Review: Microsoft Wireless Notebook Laser Mouse 6000

Posted By: Vikas Shekhawat | Mar 25 2006

The notebook computers had never been comfortable to work on with their touchpad or pressure buttons, especially when we're hooking on them for a long time. And here, a laptop mouse comes to rescue. One viable option is the 'straight designed' Microsoft Wireless Notebook Laser 6000 mouse packed with a single AA battery, and a USB transceiver, that fits into an impression under the mouse as shown in the picture above, to communicate with your notebook.

Coming directly to its usability, the smooth scroll wheel, as per Jem Matzan, is not that groovy, if we compare it to Logitech. The wheel also functions as a clickable third button, and scrolls sideways on operating systems that support that feature. The extra button on the right side is useless as we can't access it owing to the mouse's size.

The compactness of the mouse too hinders its usability and is pretty uncomfortable. The most appealing about this mouse is its ability to track on just any kind of surface, making it the best option for travelers. If you're working on Linux than it's a plug-and-play mouse for you or install the IntelliPoint mouse software in Windows, in case you want to make the best use of it. On the whole, the Microsoft Wireless Notebook Laser Mouse 6000 is worth the money.
