Rethinking the Apple TV with iOS as a real TV maybe?

When Steve Jobs announced the Apple TV he projected it as the fifth feather to the Apple’s hat of brilliance after the Macs, iPods, iPhones and iPads of course. But the very Apple TV which was leaked suspiciously a month back may still have time before it gets into your living space. According to reports, Apple is re-designing the Apple TV with iOS and maybe in line of a ‘real TV’ instead of just a headless box. There is no confirmation on it yet, but it is known that the new Apple TV ‘isnt being designed by the current Apple TV team, but by another design group entirely,’ which opens doors for radical changes in the structure of the TV. Apple TVs redesign could be influenced by Google’s officially introduction of it web surfing ‘Google TV’ maybe? Thoughts?
