Researchers using Long-lasting OLEDs to develop cheap, flexible night-vision displays

While CyberFlux is busy developing cheaper LEDs, Researchers at the University of Southern California have developed a phosphorescent dye molecule that emanates near-infrared light and further used it to create enduring organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). These diodes can be utilized to make flexible near-infrared displays that can be seen only with night vision goggles, not with the naked eyes.

If the technology gets commercialized, these displays can be effectively used by militia to read at might without the fear of being spotted by enemy. The plus point is that these diodes are made up of thin organic polymers that could be layered on a number of substrates. OLED displays are already in use in other mobile devices. It's very clear that the OLEDs play a vital part in tech part of the flexible displays.

Though they have just planned to develop the flexible displays using long-lasting organic light-emitting diodes, it might take some time for them to see the day's light.
