Now you can see real 3D images via dot arrays in air with the help of a new device developed by the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, Keio University and Burton Inc.

It's no optical illusion rather a simple but complexly created method in which infrared laser are converged to form small amounts of 'floating plasma dot" on top of the laser grid. And around 100 dots can be focused at a time via various reflectors.
