Razer Hydra motion-sensing game controller coming soon

What is it?

American gaming accessory maker Razer has unveiled an innovative PC motion-sensing game controller dubbed Razer Hydra. The new gaming controller will sport a set of incredible features. First of all, Razer Hydra will realize the possibility to utilize natural body motions to control video games in its perfect way. A gamer with the controller will feel as if he is doing something in real life while playing popular titles such as Portal 2, Left 4 Dead 2 and World of Goo with Razer Hydra. The company produced the peripheral in association with Valve and Sixense.

According to Razer, its Hydra PC motion-controller will be ultra faster, precise and highly performing. The accessory will come into the market exclusively bundled with Portal 2. The package will make use of Sixense MotionPack DLC to make motion sensing a reality. The controller will not need to have a strategic placement like Nintendo Wii to work with the PC video games. However, it should be kept in a 12-feet range with the computer.

Supported Games

Razer Hydra PC motion sensing game controller will work with 125 major PC titles, Razer said. The standalone Sixense-based magnetic joystick will work with leading titles in the gaming world, which comprise of Left 4 Dead 2 and World of Goo and so on. However, the device will land in the market bundled with Portal 2.

System Requirement

The PC on which the games are to be controlled with the Razer Hydra controller needs to have some basic requirements. The computer will sport a USB port and will run on any of Windows 7 / Windows Vista/ Windows XP operating system. A high-speed internet connection and a minimum of 35MB hard disk space are also required.

Packaging Contents

The Razer Hydra and Portal 2 package will consist of two motion-sensing controllers and a base station, Razer revealed on its Web site.
