Citing both gushing trends of the new world – rugged and small — General Micro Systems has gone a stride forward and synced the two for the Raider S705, a compact rugged PC. Stuffed with a 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, the mini-rugged S705 is capable of delivering highest processing power per cubic inch, per watt in the world.
Measuring 4.6″ x 4.6″ x 1.6″ and weighing at just 2 lbs, the tiny PC supports up to 2GB of 667 MHz DDR-2SDRAM with about six wireless connections simultaneously and has dual COM with four USB ports. Adorned with green credential to a bit, the Raider consumes just 15 watts of power, and is enabled with CDMA, TDMA, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth functions.
Not for all men’s desire, the S705 is original designed for a UAV contract, and given its rugged features, the PC is capable of functioning in extreme temperatures of -40 C to +85 C.
