r gator warbot

There are already a number of war robots that are operated using Xbox controllers, and the latest addition to that list is the R-Gator. Sadly, it hasn’t received approval to be an assistant around an army base, but its credentials could soon give it that chance. A prototype of the R-Gator first surfaced in 2004 when it was together developed by John Deere and iRobot. Further developments have seen the R-Gator improve with the software firm T8DESIGN building its Adobe Integrated Runtime Interface.

Inspired by the M-Gator, which is a golf-cart-sized military utility vehicle, the R-Gator can haul gear and supplies and can even be used as a sentry. Equipping it with a system dubbed the Robot Enhanced Detection Outpost with Lasers (REDOWL), the warbot could even detect snipers. The R-Gator could be of great help till the army succeeds in developing full-scale unmanned vehicles.
