Her is one of those wacky gadgets that you would much rather see the specialists at your nearest circus (are they any left still?) perform rather than try yourself. This is apparently a shot of a bicycle that has made its way on to the streets and one instantly wonders how the guy on top is able to balance it and carry on as if he is driving a normal bicycle. We like to call it the ‘Octacycle’ but you are allowed to give it any name you want to, at least till we get to know the actual name.

This is basically 4 bicycles mounted on top of one another, but it is not as simple as that. If you closely observe the photograph you will notice that the rear wheel on the lowest level that touches the ground is actually a lot smaller than the front wheel. This is a classic case of the ‘Circus Bicycle’ in which the rear wheel is smaller to offer more balance and stability. From then on, the wheels are arranged one on top of another in such a fashion that the rider at the top gets a very even surface to sit on and that it is not slanting either forward or backward.

The design of the bike is really nice, though one still wonders how one would ever mount this almost 12 feet seat. While it might be easier to balance and ride than those circus ones with just one huge wheel, they would still require plenty of poise and a lot of control. If you are just getting started on how to ride a bike, then this is surely, surely not the one for you!
