concept mid benq
The BenQ Qisda Creative Design Center’s concept MID has been adjudged the winner of the year’s red dot design award. The concept mobile internet device QPD-111, designed for professionals and others desiring a handy alternative for quick internet access on the move, is inspired by a bookmark. Made in a metallic exterior, the 5-inch multi-touch-enabled touchscreen device has a red Hot Key stationed in the upper left corner, which can be pressed by the user for an instant internet connection. The pocket-size MID also has a G-sensor that lets the user shake the device to switch between different functions and applications. No word on when this device could make for a production unit, or whether it ever will, but for the inquisitive lot, the will be on display at the red dot design museum in Germany until June 2010. There are 15 other products from BenQ Group that have been adjudged winners in their respective categories; you could follow the press release for more on them.
