Protective glove system saves hands in extreme conditions

Here's a chance for civilians to feel what an army man fighting in Iraq feels like. No, we are not telling you to pick up a gun and start patrolling your neighborhood, but we are here to tell you that the protective glove system that is being used by the military in Iraq has now been made available to civilians. The glove system developed by Outdoor Research has been made from a tough, abrasion-resistant material called "Wolverine." The choice for the material relied on its sturdiness and its ability to withstand extreme hot and cold temperatures in a similar way. The lightweight, flame-resistant glove system is able to stretch four-ways to give greater maneuverability to the user, while the three-layer soft-shell fabric provides more comfort. The user is supposed to mix up the different layers of the glove according to the given condition. According to the company, the $1,100 glove system has shown its worth in tackling fires and has saved plenty of hands from potential burns.
