Okay, this may be the millionth Kinect hack, but who really cares when every now and then some of them pop up those thrills of novelty. Anyway, this time, the hack comes from students at Queens University, and they have basically managed to electronically integrate a pair of the Kinect sensors with a hacked 3D HD projector. But wait, their conception goes even further as they have successfully connected the above conceived system with a hemispherical mirror mounted inside of an acrylic sphere to make a pseudo holographic display.

Christened as the project Snowglobe (no surprises there), the hemispherical contraption allows us to have a 360-degree view of a digital object. But hold your horses, scientifically this is not exactly a 3D projection, as the mechanism simply follows the user's oriented motion, and rotates accordingly to deliver that 'illusion'. Moreover, despite the innovative application, only a single user can experience the 3D display at one time.
