Pre-production picture of Sony NEX-7 camera leaked

So you want a camera that’s high on quality and also fits into your trouser pocket? A camera from Sony’s NEX series might be the one for you. The previous NEX cameras were very well received and thus Sony expects the same with it to be released Sony NEX-7. Sony claims that the NEX-5 (the newest camera in the series that are currently available) is the world’s smallest and lightest camera with interchangeable lens.

Not only is the NEX-5 light and small, it is also respectably rugged. All the cameras in the NEX series are mirrorless cameras. Sony could take the heart of digital single-lens reflex cameras and put it into small digital cameras without giving up too much on quality. The NEX-5 can shoot fairly good pictures and also excellent 1080p videos.

If there is one downside to the current NEX series of cameras, it is the price. Priced between $549 and $799, these cameras are surely on the higher side in the pricing department. And the NEX-7, if reports are to be believed, is going to be even pricier, probably around $1200. Will it be worth the big hole in your pocket?

That is something whch remains to be seen as all that’s out right now on the NEX-7 is a leaked picture of the preproduction version and a few technical specifics. The camera will have a 3-million dot OLED electronic viewfinder, an APS-C-sized sensor with 24megapixels, flash buttons and pop up flash among other features. The picture was originally leaked in this Italian forum.
