Research over powerful and lighter electric batteries is the need of the hour. Right now rechargeable Lithium ion batteries are just right replacement for traditional non-rechargeable batteries as they are capable of 150 watt-hours per kilogram.

Fabricated by flat coating of lithium electrodes and an electrolyte bonded to a glassy surface, Li-Ion batteries can resist extreme weather conditions, charge quickly and discharge slowly many a times, carry lot of energy, means outsized power in small gadget.
They can be dangerous if mistreated and may have a shorter lifespan compared to other battery types if due care is not given. High price may be the other reason that pulls you back.
