The era of digital paper will soon find some pace as Plastic Logic has commented that they will start producing plastic electronics in 2008.

The company will then produce flexible displays that can be taken any where and the data can be downloaded from any site on the internet and read. Moreover the display will be highly energy-efficient so that you can read thousands of papers before that battery runs out.

Experts have also commented that the plastic electronics will be a $30 Billion industry by 2015 and the figure will rise to about $250 Billion by 2025. A variety of new products will be possible using the technology that will include digital passports, boarding passes and maps of any kind.

To complete the project Plastic Logic has also got a $100 Million funding from financers that include Oak Investment Partners and Tudor Investment Corporation.

This will surely put an end to the traditional media that is newspapers and books and users will easily download the latest and the best books from the internet and easily read them on their flexible displays.
