At Taiwan a couple of electronic researchers have flaunted their interesting technology that relates to the era that may change the face of our contemporary LCD TVs. They claim that they can now amalgamate 3 dimensional viewing with that high definition effect! Seriously, it’s an astounding discovery, which could very well be applicable to plasmas as big as 42 inches!
Electronic engineers from Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Taiwan, are busy finalizing the future of such plasmas - Polarized 3D Displays in two LCD TV screen sizes, 32-inch and 42-inch. Keeping their fingers crossed, they seem to be all set for the debut within a span of 2 years! Though still under public sector production, these hottest LCDs would soon find their place in the private fabrication.
ITRI is making our lives simpler with its innovations coming to us every now and then. Their modus-operandi relates to the fact that they actually develop a novelty and then join hands with the private company who seems interested in selling the same. The research group’s 3D LCD TVs exert by appending a micro-retardation array on to its facade, by doing this, they don’t upshot the original cost of the finished product.
Tsai added:
The material cost for the extra components to make an LCD TV become a 3D LCD TV is very low. However, the price will depend on the market policy of the company. Over the long term, their price will be just a little higher than their 2D counterparts.
Ghastly news for the existing LCD owners is that the micro-retarder has to be fabricated onto the TV screen itself during assembly and cannot be supplemented to existing sets, now this is annoying for sure!
Just as we wear a pair of polarized glasses at our favorite Disney Land 3D-theater, we would have to put on those for this real-life feel too! Trial product of these 3D LCD TVs has been analyzed and it seems the researchers are good to go.
