Having ruled the Blu-ray arena, Pioneer, in collaboration with Sharp, seeks another grueling return to Japanese showground with some new high-end, high-definition Blu-ray disc recorder consoles this year. Sharp will contract the fabrication of Pioneer’s Blu-ray disc recorder. Pioneer has been eyeing the rise in demand for these devices in the near future. Even though it hasn’t officially seeped out any of the specifications about the recorder so far, it’s believed the console would include 1080p output and 1080p video up convert, network compatibility to any DLNA-compliant server or any PC running Windows Media Connect, and would support DTS-HD, DTS and Dolby Digital. Furthermore, it will be complete with an HDMI jack for one-cable hookup. As a final point, it’s going to be somewhere around $1,800 which isn’t that much for a class Blu-ray recorder for sure.
