Pimp my PC anybody?

Posted By: Jayprashanth Mohanram | Mar 19 2008

Pimped up cars have been around for ages, but pimping out PCs seems to be the fad these days with the modders not being content to tinker around the innards of the CPU, now they have gone the whole hog and have pimped this PC inside out. How else do you explain a computer CPU cabinet which looks like one of the ancient mercedes benz convertibles? All this replete even with the Mercedes Benz's hood ornament adorning the CPU cabinet. This wacky, very cool project is courtesy a couple of German PC modders who call themselves Alex and Maico. This concept called hotrod is actually a garage project and has cool, custom touches by the mod-duo all over it and was done from scratch in an amazing five hours, flat. The best part of this entire garage mod project is that it has been made using materials lying around home.

No exotic designer kitsch for this Hotrod. We have a couple of pieces of aluminium, a couple of tyres, wood, spray paint and goodness gracious, even sewage pipes. The modders sure have some imagination and it is this imagination with which they put the Hotrod together. Bicycle lamps for headlamps, a VW passat's broken fender for a fender and for the complete hot rod experience, the white painted wheels were even mated to a motor to make them rotate slowly. This is one very nice PC MOD which will inspire a lot many modders out there to do some tinkering of their own and make the ubiquitous PC cabinet a tad more exciting.
