After a failed expeditions to Mars, the NASA engineers had every reason to feel the jitters as their latest baby, the Phoenix Mars Lander touched down on the Martian landscape. This time though, there wasn’t any hiccups as the Phoenix Mars Lander landed safely on Mars and even started beaming back images to Earth. However incredible as it may sound, the Phoenix has actually traversed all of 422 million miles at a searingly fast 13,000mph. Now that it has landed safely, the Mars Lander will begin its three month quest of finding buried ice and water samples on Mars. For this, NASA engineers aim to use the 7.7 meter long robotic arm of the bot. The coming three months promise to be an exciting time for space buffs as the Mars Lander might just find some life that could even make Mars a safe haven for Earthlings in the future.
