Phison Electronics demonstrates annoying U.bo pet robot
Tokyo Toy show the demonstration of a new pet robot called U.bo from Phison Electronics. This I must say, is no more useful than having an extra dog to take care of. I mean, it really doesn’t do anything worthwhile except for entertaining you with its weirdly annoying mannerisms. U.bo is actually an alien spore that has its residence in 6-legged space craft. It can walk in all directions, make sounds, which I hope are not annoying and its 11 x 11 LED screen displays array of emoticons. In addition to this, you also need to feed it from time to time, as if feeding yourself was not enough, I mean it is one extra task to be completed in the day. To feed it you have to tilt a magnetic cookie accessory towards its mouth and as a result it will poop, pee, fart, and burp. It has a funny way of pooping, it will show the poop icon and the user will have to shake it to clean it up.

Measuring 10cm in length and 8.5cm high, it comes with an interactive software that can be installed on PCs. Consequently, different mouse buttons can be used to interact with the virtual U.bo. Also, a Bluetooth connection in the mobile phone can be used to control it. It also has some touch sensors in the bum, which if petted upon can cause lot of happiness to this round robot and spanking lot of unhappiness and running away. And, if you place another U.bo close to its counterpart, the both are capable of interacting by dancing or kissing. Its two legs are equipped with two DC motors and it can keep doing its thing for 14 hours on 2 AA batteries.
