Catching up fast with the high-definition and Blu-ray format race, Philips has just rolled out its new 849 euros Blu-ray optical drive and media at the ongoing Computex 2006.
The two speed ‘triple writer’ drive also burns DVDs and CDs and will be up for grab in August. The writable and re-writable media will be available in July and September respectively. The dual layer discs will provide up to 50GB of storage while the single layer will come with 25GB of storage and will be launched for 15 euros (BD-R writable media) and 20 euros (BD-RE re-writable media).
