By way of word associations, we always believed home theater systems are meant to be “big.” However, over the past few months, the shrinkage has been mind-boggling, leading to a scenario where we are forced to accept whatever deviation is thrown our way. Philips, with least regard for popular conception, has unveiled its Cinema One football-shaped home theater system that measures just 10.75 (diameter) x 6.75 inches (height). The most interesting part is that this “tiny” home theater system has an iPod dock,five-channel amp and sub-woofer built into it. Six speakers lend audio brilliance to the Cinema One. The system’s DVD player supports DivX, MPEG-4, as well as WMV, while the CD player can run MP3s. The USB port is an added advantage that allows you to connect portable media devices. The Cinema One also features interesting image functions like flip, rotate, slideshow and zoom. If crowds put you off, and you’re choosy about movies, Philips Cinema One will be a great companion.
