According to Pentax, the augmented image feature of DSmobile 600 portable scanner does not have any impact on power consumption, but it just consume two watts of power at the time of even the heaviest scanning activity.

Users are allowed to power the unit fully with the help of the USB cable, whereas the preferred scanning program is released by the quick-access button. Developed at first for Windows, Electronista comments that the scanner is Mac-compatible and obtains total TWAIN scanner control by virtue of a downloadable driver for Mac OS X 10.3 or later.
