Pentagon eyes autonomous airstrike precision with the ARSS
Unmanned Ariel Vehicles are now a part of artillery for most advanced militaries across the globe. The quest now is to take them to the next level by investing immensely on the research and development and the Autonomous Rotorcraft Sniper System (ARSS) proves just how positive the results are. A sniper like precision isn’t generally associated with a UAV but this autonomous system developed by the brains at Pentagon combining a Vigilante 502 Unmanned Helicopter and an RND Manufacturing Edge 2000 Rifle dares to change the convention. The aim is to limit collateral damage which is a problem with artillery that lacks exactitude. The combination used is brought to use with an auto-pilot system whilst an operator takes care of the precision guidance.
