Paraplegics will walk into the future with Rex robotic exoskeleton

When I first read "Rex," it reminded me of Israel Aerospace Industries’ Rex Robot. But this Rex is different, it’s a robotic exoskeleton that’s gives a wearer a new stride in life. Developed by Rex Bionics, the robotic exoskeleton can support a human’s weight, thus making the bionics a perfect enhancement for paraplegics, who can now think beyond wheelchairs. Operated simply by using a joystick and control pad, the US $150,000 robotic exoskeleton is expected to launch internationally in 2011. Video of Rex being used by a patient below.
