Panasonic's 65VX100U plasma monitor: The king of flat panels?

Industry experts believe that Panasonic's 65VX100U is now the undisputed king of flat panels. A monitor by nature, it isn't surprising that features like HDTV, composite and S-video and analog tuner don't find their way into this product. Consolation, though, is available in the form of 4HDMI jacks, one component video, an RS-232 jack and one PC input. Having said all this, we are certainly not going to overlook its obvious dominance over the Kura. At 65-inches, it's bigger than the 50-incher. The latter's tendency to turn purple-reddish at higher black levels sort of tilts the balance in favor of Panasonic. The 65VX100U's 60,000:1 contrast ratio and 7,160 gradation shades for shadows are also a visible plus. However, if you had to shell out a whopping $10,000 for a flat-panel plasma, you'd either need to be filthy rich or downright reckless. We believe in waiting for a better option!
