Panasonic Evolta: Evolution of Voltage!

Guinness has certified Panasonic’s latest alkaline battery as the world’s longest lasting battery. Evolta – derived from evolution and voltage – claims to have 20 per cent more juice as compared to its rivals.

This is a very heartening news for those who just can’t let go of their old portable cassette players. In addition to being the longest running battery, Evolta has another claim to fame. It has also been described as a battery with longest shelf life; it can last for up to 10 years in storage. Normal batteries, on the other hand, have a shelf life of about 5-7 years.

Japan will have taste of this battery in April with rest of the world to follow suite. The increased juice will come at a 15 per cent higher than normal price and the batteries would cost 590 yen ($5.50) for a pack of four. Looks like Matsushita & Panasonic Corporation’s unification spells good for a world rapidly heading into rechargeable battery mode.
