Panasonic may have created what it claims to be the world’s first 3D HD plasma home cinema system. The system comes with the well-known 103-inch PDP and a Blu-ray player, which can provide separate views to each eye. Though we know that both the eyes perceive separately and it is the visual sensors that perceive the images as one, that very mechanism has been used here to create a 3D effect in the human brain. The two video streams have a tiny differences, thanks to Panasonic’s ability to maintain a high definition experience. However, you would need to wear the polarizing glasses. The best part of the system is that the 3D abilities can be fit onto a single standard Blu-ray disk. The technology involves the ability to decode and play back HD image data recorded to the BD in real time.
Price and Availability: Panasonic has just announced the creation of the home cinema system and the price isn’t known yet and it is also not known when it will be available in the markets.
Watch This: Though the creation of the technology and the product may be welcome, it must not necessitate the purchase of a new kind of Blu-ray deck. However, it is commendable that many previous problems like reduced vertical resolution, picture quality degradation caused by pixel skipping have been solved.
Word around the Web:
TVsnob says:
The system uses Panasonic’s giant 103-inch, 1080p plasma display and creates 3D images by optimizing an accompanying Blu-ray player for the unique perspectives of the left and right eyes.
