Here is another robot with cleaning intentions. At times I think our homes and vicinities are so sullied that these robotic engineers are all inclined to get us sparklingly clean. But then resting that thought on this occasion wouldn’t be fair with this cute little Panasonic designed floor cleaning inchworm robot, so I will reserve my argument for a later instance.

Dubbed the Fukitorimushi (wipe-up bug), the bot is deliberated to sweep the floors from dust and dirt, dragging itself over and wiping it with its nanocloth-covered underbelly. Up for demonstration at the Tokyo Fiber Senseware exhibition in Milan, the robotic cleaner is seen indentifying dust with blue-white light, and relying on human deftness to help change its nanoclothing. Though the Fukitorimushi finds a charging slot for itself when it’s consumed all the battery cleaning and more, you’ll have to care for this creepy bit if you want it to clean and sweep those stains on the floor. Video after the jump.
