Panasonic’s Blu-ray Disc player, the DMP-BD10, is confirmed to be shipped in the US in September with a massive price tag of ‘around’ $1,500, we expect it to be much less, especially when Sony is ready to lure with $500 less.
Panasonic will also ship a series of new plasma TVs capable of showing 1080p content. Now we’ll have to wait and watch whether the DMP-BD10 will be able to deliver the same output or not. In September it’ll not be easy for Panasonic to strengthen its grip as Samsung’s 1080i BD-P1000 machine is supposed to hit the market in May and Sony too will be ready with its 1080p-capable BDP-S1 in July.
