Packard Bell reincarnates the Acer One as the Dot Netbook

The mini laptop or the netbooks admirers never really liked the Acer Aspire One for it didn’t offer handy features, and given the small size, the matter just got worse. The Acer subsidiary, Packard Bell has somewhat re-incarnated the Aspire One as the Dot netbooks which would be released in UK this July. The branding and specifications differ from the Aspire One with the two models, Dot S and Dot M offering relatively better features. The Dot S has a 10.1-inch display with a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom N280 processor supported by 1GB RAM and a 160 GB Hard Drive.

The Dot M gets its chassis from the Aspire One but thankfully, the specifications are different. It houses an AMD Athlon L1110 processor supported by 2GB of RAM and 320GB HD. While the Dot S runs on Windows XP, the Dot M adores Windows Vista. The former is priced at $397 while the latter demands $556. The Dot M can also be purchased with an Intel Processor.
