Oversized iPad like touchless vending machine provides drinks using GPS

Imagine an oversize iPad that can provide you your favorite drink without you even touching it. Well, this is exactly what this vending machine would do for you. This new vending machine has been installed on the shared campus of USF Polytechnic and Polk State College in Winter Haven, Florida. Apart from looking like an overgrown iPad, the vending machine has many new high-tech features attributed to it.

The best feature of this vending machine is that you would not even have to touch it to get your drinks. The machine uses GPS technology to give you the drink you want. Moreover, it does have a touchscreen feature, which you can use anytime, in case you do not want satellites hovering overhead to guide the machine.

Specially built sensors can detect fingers of the users within an inch of the screen when it hovers over a selection. The machine has no moving parts and, therefore, there is no fear of your Pepsi or Coke cans being stuck in the middle. When you move your fingers over a selection, the machine would also show you the nutritional value of that drink.

The machine has been developed by US Poly graduate student Justin Hall. He is currently test marketing this new technology for a French company. According to him, the machine works much quicker than other similar vending machines around the country. For obvious reasons, the students of both the universities love this new addition to their campus.
