Orb is a privately owned company that has decided to launch a service by which the users can see and download their favorite videos on to their phones.

Orb is providing free downloadable software which will integrate in to the existing web browsers and when the viewer sees a video he can create a channel for that video via internet to his phone and laptops by clicking on the 'Orb this' button.

The software works on RSS feeds. Already more than 400,000 people have downloaded their free software.

This Orb software also lets you configure what files on your PC will be reachable on wireless devices.

What's good for Orb is the fact that it has beaten YouTube in providing this service which can and will work to its advantage. This technology can see the 35 employee company see a growth that they could have only imagined.

Orb founder Joe Costello said, 'Everything you can play on your own computer can go anywhere'.

He added that adding YouTube service required small tweaks only. With this service the users will be able to access both YouTube videos and Google videos.

The new software will be compatible to the high end phones like Motorola Q model and Nokia N80 but the wider community with less sophisticated phones will be left high and dry.

YouTube also plans to lunch similar services by next year and is already in negotiations with Verizon.

Orb is also under negotiations with Britain's Vodafone Group Plc. And it is expected to announce two wireless carriers soon.
